Welcome to Eastside Westside Music Together. The following policies and procedures have been put in place to provide accessible, safe classrooms for your children. Please help to make our classes run efficiently by adhering to the following guidelines.
Bring all valuables in the classroom with you.
Use elevators with care: Call once and be careful not to hit sensors with your strollers while entering. Please be patient and do not overcrowd elevators.
Stroller etiquette: Please park your stroller in the designated area, folding strollers where possible.
No food or drink in class: Not only is this important to maintain a clean space, but bottles and food can become a major distraction to other children during class. If your child needs a drink or a snack, please step out of the classroom, and come back in once they are through.
Please remove your shoes.
Security: Some locations require identification upon entry for security reasons. This is for the safety of all.
Public space: Most of our classes are located in public spaces (churches, synagogues, etc). We are grateful that these spaces provide a safe and clean environment for our program. Please be aware that others work in these locations and keep talking to a minimum in the hallways.
Make-up policy: Unlimited make-up classes per family are allowed each semester, as space permits. Make-ups may be scheduled through this section of our website by choosing SCHEDULE MAKE-UP. All make-ups must be scheduled at least a day in advance and must be used during the current semester. Please schedule make-ups as soon as you need them. Space is limited in classes during the last weeks of the semester. If you have questions regarding this policy, or have a special request, contact the office at (212) 496-1242.
Switches: No switches will be made after the third week of class. Due to the educational nature of the program, continuity and consistency in a class are highly important for you and your child.
Inclement weather: Eastside Westside Music Together will most often follow public school policy with regard to class cancellations. Should public schools close due to inclement weather, our classes will be closed as well. Occasionally, we make the decision to cancel classes if we feel the sidewalks are not 'stroller safe', in which case you will be notified via an email blast and on our Facebook page. Semester extensions due to weather cancellations will be confirmed via email.
